2008 was really an incredible year on so many fronts. On the one hand, Ciceron had one its best years ever in terms of winning new clients. We are pleased to be working with AgStar, MLT Vacations, the Monterey County CVB, and Employers Insurance. Veteran clients Andersen Windows, MeetMinneapolis, the Inventure Group, and a whole host of others either struck up new exciting projects or continued important retainer work with us.
Which brings me to my “on the other hand.” The economy is affecting all sectors of the market in ways that are unprecedented. The projects and work we’ve been retained to do is centralized around helping all of these organizations do more with less, be more effective, and more accountable across all of marketing. In addition, they’re incredibly hungry as one can imagine for any market or customer intelligence which can help them make more fact-based decisions. We take these challenges very seriously and soberly moving forward, and yet, this has been our promise since that summer day in 1995 when I opened shop.
For Ciceron, 2008 was a year where our long held mission of “measurable results” came to the forefront due to the economy and as such as been put to the test. 2009 is a proving-ground year for all of us in interactive marketing. Carpe diem!
Finally, I am thrilled that we have been fortunate that the Dream Team has come together at Ciceron. Over the year, the addition of Dawn Hepper, Senior Marketing Consultant and Phil Numrich, VP – Business Development rounded out the already kick-butt team that includes Julie Verhulst and Amber VanHeuveln. Kraig, Rob and I are deeply gracious for all their hard work, talents, and good cheer. We already have several new hires planned, so if you’re looking to make a change, let us know!
Our best wishes to you all in 2009!
Andrew
