As 2013 comes to an end, it’s time to shift our focus to 2014. New concerns come with the new year: Where do we invest our marketing budget? What areas should we cut back on, and what areas do we increase our spend? It’s a chaotic time. And the decisions that you make, the plans that you make, are going to be your life for the next year. No pressure or anything.
So what are we supposed to do about this? That’s the purpose of this infographic — to give you a better idea of where your fellow marketers plan to invest their marketing dollars, and where they plan to cut back. There are certain areas, mainly digital, that are growing at a quick pace. When trends like this pop up, it’s important to pay attention.
The main areas of concern seem to be content marketing, social media, web design, and search marketing. When you’re making your plans for the new year, keep those areas in mind, the risk of not doing so is very real. It’s time to invest in digital marketing — not just banner ads, but content, social and even brand advocacy.
