At the end of 2013, the marketing industry was absolutely packed with predictions about the future of social marketing in 2014. We even had a few infographics of our own! (See? One here, and one here.) But after all of those predictions were known, many stopped digging in to the marketing landscape this year. What we wanted to know was whether or not our predictions were right — and what’s really happening in the world of social marketing.
Luckily, Social Media Examiner just released this awesome study that shed some light on the state of the social marketing industry. It’s full of great stats and information about how social marketers are thinking, planning and executing against their 2014 goals.
Some key insights that we learned in the process were that Facebook is still the marketer’s #1 platform and 97% of marketers are now participating in social media marketing.
This infographic should convey the essence of what has been important in social marketing so far this year — and what promises to be important in months and years to come.
