Shadow Market Seminar - A Great Success!

Yesterday's Shadow Market seminar went off with few hitches (got a little hot in the room...you know, with all that hot air being spouted off) and to a packed house. Over the jammed packed day of blogging, online community building exercises, and metrics discussions, lots of great ideas were shared among everyone.

We're really looking forward to the next one on July 19th where we'll really dive into the metric and analytics discussion. We're toying with the idea of having it in three tracks: finance, IT, and marketing. It's clear that without these three teams working together, a real commitment to performance marketing is going to be somewhat half-assed.

I also found out last night that I'll be speaking at the eTourism Summit in New York in September. I'll be yakking it up with people in the group meeting travel business on how the Internet continues to play a central role in their world. Clearly there's a lot more planners could be doing in getting savvy travellers to co-create content that would fire up prospective visitors to various cities and communities.

Speaking of last night, the after-seminar party was excellent. The conversation was enlightening, the company couldn't have been better, and the wine delish. I've got to plug my favorite petit syrah these days: Foppiano! So dark and purple you can't shine a light through it.

One last thing...don't attempt to salsa dance to hip hop. The after-after-party is proof that they weren't meant to be combined. Ole, homey!
