Project Manager

Position Overview

The Project Manager manages key client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients and internal resources to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will hire new talent as needed to fulfill client needs.

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Will work directly with Senior Project Management team along with the Director of Project Management. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver multiple work streams for various digital projects across the agency to agreed scope, timing, budget and quality
  • Work with internal teams to help define project scope, resource requirements and cost estimates for projects
  • Track resource allocation against estimates and forecast overages before they are incurred
  • Be the hub of communication for the project – in regular contact with internal and external partners
  • Create and manage against robust and realistic timelines and task lists
  • Be on top of the projects and know the status of timing, key milestones, budget, deliverables, resources, etc. at all times
  • Use fair judgment to push back when scope creep or suggested budgets are not realistic while also understanding potential constraints of the client
  • Ensure all documentation and deliverables are of the highest possible standard
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills

Key Skills

  • Experience with project management tools (WorkFront, BaseCamp) for documentation and tracking
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and technology
  • Experience with various media channels including paid search, social, and display
  • Experience delivering communications to senior level executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and stable under pressure
  • General understanding of project management principles (agile, iterative, waterfall)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of project management
  • Agency experience is required
  • Experience managing large, complex projects and multiple projects at one-time
  • Experience with, and understanding of, digital marketing is required
  • Experience managing multi-channel media campaigns
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Proven ability to work across multiple brands, clients or industries simultaneously
  • Proven self-starter, yet also possesses the ability to work well in a collaborative environment
